Congrats on
your new

Permanent

Jewellery!

Thank you so much for starting your forever story with The Lovers – we loved meeting you ✨

Read on for everything you need to know about your new piece.

✦ Jewellery Care FAQs ✦

General Jewellery Care
To keep your permanent pieces looking 👌 it’s best to avoid applying cosmetics, perfumes, hairsprays and lotions directly on the piece. These can be corrosive and damage your piece’s shine potential. While chlorine, sweat and water are non-reactive, constant exposure may impair the longevity of your piece.

Remember, your permanent jewellery’s lifespan is highly dependent on your lifestyle.

How do I clean my new piece?
It’s super simple! Just use the cloth we provided to clean off your piece every week. For a more thorough clean use a solution of warm water and mild detergent and gently scrub with a soft bristled toothbrush 🙌
What if I need to remove my Permanent Jewellery?
Great question! Lots of people have permanent jewellery and (for one reason or another) need to remove it.

Luckily It’s super simple – in fact you can just cut it off with household scissors (ideally at the lil’ ring that connects the ends of the chain, this means you can use the chain later on!).

If you need to do so, please email us at hello@shopthelovers.com and we can book you in for a small fee to re-weld your piece!

How long does Permanent Jewellery last?
The lifespan of your forever bracelet is highly dependent on your lifestyle and other external factors. We choose the highest quality 14k pieces that can be worn every day, from rain to sunshine and beyond. How do we know? We wear all of our pieces and have since 2020!

Remember: They are permanent, not indestructible!

Like all jewellery, they may rip, cut and tear in extreme circumstances and we can’t guarantee circumsatnces outside of our control. But rest assured, we have worn, tried and tested all of our chains and know you need a large amount of force to break them.

14k Gold-Filled Pieces
Our tried and tested Gold-Filled jewellery is far more durable than gold plated or vermeil jewellery and so will last a long time (depending many factours).

To ensure your piece stays sparkly, we recommend following the jewellery care and lightly polishing regularly to maintain shine! 🙂

Sterling Silver Pieces
While we love our shiny, silver jewellery, please do keep in mind it is a soft material and can tarnish quite quickly when it comes in contact with oxygen and sulfer.

To keep your shine pristine for longer, use your polishing cloth regularly and avoid chlorine and excess heat where possible.

Anklets
As anklets are in an area far more prone to use, we do ask that you are mindful! 🧘

If you’re wearing and putting on/taking off socks, tights and boots or high shoes keep your eyes open as catches, tears and breakages can happen! 😭

Can I go through an airport?
Of course! Travelling through airport security and TSA should not be an issue with your permanent jewellery or forever bracelet due to it’s dainty, delicate nature.

We have been on multiple trips and it’s never been an issue.

What if I am having surgery?
Whether or not your permanent jewellery needs to be removed in a hospital depends highly on the type of surgery you are undergoing.

If a medical professional asks you to remove your forever bracelet before entering an operation, you can simply cut off the bracelet at the small ring connector and for a small fee The Lovers will re-weld this for you!

Love what we do?

If you’re enjoying your new permanent piece or had a positive experience or have any suggestions on how we can improve – we’d love to hear from you! Customer reviews are so important to small businesses (like us!) and makes us so happy 💕

✦ Our Warranty ✦

While we’d love for your Forever Bracelet to last forever,
we understand that things can happen!
What's Covered?

To ensure you have a positive permanent jewellery experience at The Lovers, we offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee to have your piece re-welded if you experience any issues at the zap point (where the weld was made).

As our jewellery is custom fit, we cannot not offer returns or exchanges on permanent pieces.

Please contact hello@shopthelovers.com if you have special needs for your jewellery piece from us and we will always aim to do our best to be of help!

What If I Take It Off?

Great question! If you need to remove your permanent jewellery piece, please do so by safely using a sharp pair of scissors to cut open the round connector ring (zap point) and schedule a re-weld appointment to have it reattached.

Please do not cut your chain outside of the connector chain as we cannot repair it!

Once you want to put it back on – simply let us know. To schedule your reweld appointment, please email hello@shopthelovers.com and we’ll be in touch shortly! 🙌

Please note: If it’s outside of the 30 day period there will be a small re-weld fee to cover a new connector ring and staff time.

What If It Breaks Outside The Zap Point?

While we’d love for your Forever Piece to last well, forever, we understand that life happens.

We thoroughly test all of our chains prior to sale (through both wear and rigorous testing) to ensure they are strong enough to last. We have not yet found that breakages occur spontaneously or without an external factor, such as cutting, snagging or pulling.

Don’t worry! If your chain breaks, we can usually re-attach it for you using a new connector. Simply email us at hello@shopthelovers.com to arrange your reattachment.

Please note: there is a small re-weld fee to cover the new connector and our staff time.

What If It's After 30 Days?

Another great question!  If you need adjusting or have an issue outside of the warranty period we will still be here!

Simply email us at hello@shopthelovers.com to begin the re-weld process!

Please note: past 30 days there is a small re-weld fee to cover new connectors and our staff time.

What If I Lose The Piece?

Unfortunately, we cannot returns, refunds or replacements on The Lovers jewellery items that are lost. This is becuase we cannot asses what the issue was or repair any faults.

Remember: They are permanent, not indestructible!

Like all jewellery, they may rip, cut and tear in extreme circumstances and we can’t guarantee circumsatnces outside of our control. But rest assured, we have worn, tried and tested all of our chains and know you need a large amount of force to break them.

How Do I Book a Re-weld?
